GENERAL MEETINGS 2025
2025Overview
Two General Meetings were held in 2025.
The proceedings of the Annual General Meeting conducted on 27th March included:
- Receipt of the reports from the President and Director of Finance.
- Receipt of the audited accounts for the past year.
- The Board position Director of Course was contested by John Curnow and Nigel Williams, with Mr Curnow winning the subsequent election.
- No nominations were received for the Board positions Director of Finance and Director of Lady Members, the positions being declared vacant.
- Appointments to Management Committees for Finance, Lady Members, Match, and Membership and Marketing were completed unopposed.
- The election for the Course Committee member was contested by Bradley Simms and Lennon Thurtell with Mr Thurtell winning the election.
- Three Special Resolutions to amend the Constitution were considered and carried:
- Club Secretary as Returning Officer
- Separation of parties to disciplinary proceedings
- Foundation member - waive subscription fees
- Other Business concerning:
- A motion to increase the percentage of the competition prize pool for winners and runner up was defeated
- Life Membership was awarded to John Curnow
A Special General Meeting Was conducted on 30 October.
(This meeting was reconvened after the original meeting on 23 October 2025 failed to achieve a quorum of 65 members.)
The meeting was to consider a Special Resolution proposed by Club President Mark Bonser to amend the Club's Governance Structure.
Following presentations from speakers for and against the motion a vote rejected the Special Resolution.
