SELETAR VISIT GIFT 2002
2002This plaque was presented to MGGC by Singapore reciprocal club Seletar Country Club during Melville Glades’ visit to Seletar in August 2002. This visit was the first to occur between the two clubs following the establishment of a reciprocal agreement in 1997. The MGGC party included a team of just six golfers, but several partners participated in the visit. A more detailed account of the trip appears in Newsletter October 2002 (Item 2022.21).
The plaque appears as a raised golden scroll with leaf patterns around the edge. This is secured on a rosewood-coloured wooden backing board. On the plaque there is the Seletar club emblem in full colour and words in black stating, in part:
“To commemorate the inter-club match … 23 August 2002”.
A silhouette of a golfer sits behind the wording.
The backing board has an arm that levers out at the rear so that it can be displayed upright on a table.
