Girl From 36 Devon Road, Claremont

Overview

Large rectangular photograph of girl in light coloured lace and muslin dress mounted on cardboard backing. The neckline of dress has horizontal rows of lace while the bodice has has vertical rows. The girl has long wavy hair parted down the middle and pulled back in a large bow.

Top right and bottom right corner of photograph have broken off.

Remains of a signature bottom right corner.

Historical information

The photograph had fallen down the back of a fire place surround in 36 Devon Road, Claremont and has suffered heat damage .

In 2009, John McGregor (a descendant of the McQeen family who lived in the house) stated that his father immediately identified the girl in the photo as Jessie McQueen .
