Historical information

The Antoines were a prominent family in the Claremont-Cottesloe area. Edmund Antoine was born in Cernay, France, and relocated to Perth with his wife Rachel as part of the Government Wool Appraisal Scheme. He also served as the Western Australian Consul de Belgique and was the President of the Alliance Francaise. The family home was at 196 Stirling Highway, named Cernay in honour of Edmund's birthplace. Edmund and Rachel's children were Jean, Marcel, Edmee, Charles, Roger, Yvonne, and Odette.
