Dalla No 0 5 Liter butter churn with an iron base, metal bowl and metal lid. The 5 litre bowl sits above a vertical iron gear system that is operated by an iron crank with a turned wooden handle. The iron base has 2 feet which can be attached to a flat surface with 4 screws. One bowl has been painted silver and the other bowl black. Inside the bowl are metal paddles that are attached to a central vertical that is connected to the external gear system. These paddles would have been rotated when the operator turned the crank handle. There is a butter milk drain with a metal screw on lid at the base of the bowl.

Historical information

Svenska Centrifug Aktie Bolaget was an industrial company founded in 1896 in Södertälje in Södermanland and Stockholm County, Sweden. The company manufactured centrifuges and eventually merged with AB Separator , later Alfa-Laval . Manufacturing took place in Södertälje until the early 1960s, after which it was moved to Tumba .
