PLAQUE - TELSTRA TRIATHLON SERIES
A rectangular plaque depicting a photograph of competitors in a bike race for the Telstra Triathlon Series 2011/2012.
There is a Telstra logo followed by the text: [TELSTRA / triathlon series / 2011/2012] in the top left hand corner of the certificate, and the text [Presented to: CITY OF ARMADALE / Thank you for your support of the 2011/2012 Telstra Triathlon Series] is printed on a white background in the bottom right hand corner. A design [trievents] is printed in a blue and white rectangle in the bottom left hand corner.
The photograph is set within a green border, a thin white border, a silver border and then a black frame. The plaque has a silver pin in each corner of the silver border.
On the back is a maker's sticker.
The Telstra Triathlon Series was sponsored by the telecommunications company Telstra but was run by TriEvents WA. Different sponsors over the years would have their name on the promotional material for the events.
The triathlon in 2011/2012 composed of 5 different race days starting from December 2011 to March 2012. The second race - which the plaque was made to thank the City of Armadale for - was run on the 14th of January 2012 at Champion Lakes.
TriEvents WA commenced operation in roughly 2001 and eventually shut down in July of 2018 due to presumed financial trouble.

This collection represents the many different ways residents of the City of Armadale have entertained themselves either privately or in the public. Access to leisure time and leisure products and facilities demonstrates how the community grew from one of struggle to ensure there was food on the table in the 1830s to one where consistent work and income allowed for spare time to be spent on leisure activities or leisure products.
