Overview

A plaque showing four photographs of people competeing in various physical activities. Moving clockwise the largest is a photograph of a man and woman running on the left hand side taking up most of the space. The second is a group of competitors running, the third is of a woman riding a bicycle beside a river, and the fourth is a photograph of a group of competitors running. Each of the photographs is separated by a thin blue strip.

The photograps are set within a silver border and then a black border. The silver border has one metal pin on each corner holding a transparent cover over the photograph.

The first photograph has the logo for the duathlon in the lower third section. The logo consists of a green, blue, and red circles placed over each other on the left side before the City of Armadale logo and text overlaps. The text reads: [CITY OF Armadale / DUATHLON / RUN - BIKE - RUN]. Below is the text: [Presented to the City of Armadale / Thank you for supporting the 2013 City of Armadale Duathlon] on a blue box in black writing.

The TriEvents logo is placed below and to the left of the cyclist and reads: [TriEvents / Event Management].

On the back is a maker's sticker.

Historical information

The Telstra Triathlon Series was sponsored by the telecommunications company Telstra but was run by TriEvents WA. Different sponsors over the years would have their name on the promotional material for the events.

Multiple events were run in City of Armadale area over the years.

TriEvents WA commenced operation in roughly 2001 and eventually shut down in July of 2018 due to presumed financial trouble.

Statement of significance

This plaque presented to City of Armadale for the Duathlon Race in 2013 at Champion Lakes in the City of Armadale.

Also an example of the sporting events the City of Armadale has supported throughout the years.
