1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games souvenir baseball
This 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games souvenir baseball is with the original box. The ball is off-white leather with blue and red stitching to the seams. Printing on the ball is blue. The cardboard box is grey with blue lettering. Both the ball and the box display the name of the manufacturer and the logo of the Games of the XXIIIrd Olympiad Los Angeles 1984.
Baseball at the 1984 Summer Olympics was a demonstration sport. Although single exhibition games had been played in conjunction with five previous Olympics, it was the first time that the sport was officially included in the program, and also the first time that the sport was played in Olympics held in the United States. Eight teams competed in the tournament in Los Angeles, California - Canada, Chinese Taipei, Dominican Republic, Italy, Japan, Korea, Nicaragua, United States. Games were held at Dodger Stadium.
