Overview

This baseball is made by Rawlings and is covered in white leather with red stitching to the seams. It is imprinted with the maker's mark and the American baseball National League stamp. The handwritten inscriptions, in black pen, indicate when and where the ball was presented, the names of the presenter and the recipient, and the four game day umpires and their positions.

Historical information

The Los Angeles Dodgers game day baseball was presented to Western Australian Alan Luscombe on August 1st, 1989 on his visit to the L.A. Dodgers. It was presented by American umpire Harry Wendelstedt and is inscribed with all four game day umpires' names: Gary Darling (HP), Randy Marsh (1st), Bill Hohn (2nd), Harry Wendelstedt (3rd).
