The correspondence is in English written by Private A Wattling, addressed to Merle Marsh, and is dated 27/6/43.
A series of letters sent by Private Albert Wattling to Merle Marsh during World War II. Albert lived in Prospect Road in Armadale before he left to fight with the AIF overseas. Merle, also from Armadale, was at that time going to school in Northam.
Some of the letters are sent from Stalag 13C, a prisoner of war camp in Germany, where Albert spent part of the war.

Social: The thoughts and words of a local man who went and served overseas during WWII. Note that the letters would have been censored by the military. Also how writing letters was a way to keep in touch with home and helped moraly support the Australian troops.
