Rectangular piece of paper with a blue background.
There is a golden smiley sun in the top left corner, and red and green apples with green leaves in the centre. Diagonally through the centre is a white stripe with the word [APPLES] in blue at right hand end.
There is a red strip across the bottom with three white rectangular patches with [SIZE], [GROWER'S REGD. No], and [ONE BUSHEL] in blue lettering. To the right is the grower's name in yellow [Packed for R. N. MOONEY / PERTH / WEST AUSTRALIA].
Text in various colours and fonts ifrom top to above the red strip is [SUNNY-DEW FIRST CHOICE FOR QUALITY / APPLES / Fancy Grade / PRODUCE OF / WEST AUSTRALIA].

Historical information

A unused fruit box label from R.N. Mooney's Western Australian, a fruit exporting company, and was place on packed fruit identified as being for overseas export. The company would have sourced fruit for export from local orchards during this time.

Statement of significance

This object is part of a collection that represents the important role Agricultural and Horticultural Societies have played in the supporting, promotion and development of rural industries in the City of Armadale as well as providing significant social events that brought large parts of the community together to celebrate the achievements of local families, orchards, farmers and horticultural. Agricultural and horticultural societies have operated in the City of Armadale since 1897 when the Kelmscott Agricultural Society was formed.
