Historical information

In February 1953, Private Graeme Belleville who had been posted away from the Second Battalion, R.A.R. a few days before embarkation stowed away on the troopship New Australia bound for Korea. He had organised his inoculations at Puckapunyal, bade his family farewell, paid his fare to Sydney and smuggled himself aboard. He was fined 5 pounds and put back 'on strength'.
