Boyanup Hall Bazaar
c. 1904Sepia photograph of a crowd of well-dressed people gathered in front of the Boyanup Hall. A horse and buggy can also be seen in the foreground.
Although the date of this photo is uncertain, Boyanup bazaars were held in 1903 and 1904. The event was promoted by the Ladies' Committee of the Boyanup church building fund, with the intention of raising money to build a new church in the town. Officials and visitors traveled from several surrounding towns to be involved. While stall holders sold their various wares, other activities included a cricket match and a beauty pageant.
The Bunbury Herald published an article about the second Bazaar in 1904, which is available on Trove: https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/87088204
