HMAS Perth III Cap

A black cloth baseball style cap with the crown featuring a representation of HMAS Perth, FFH 157, in grey cotton embroidery. The name of the ship is embroidered above this with designation and pennant number below. Both are embroidered in yellow cotton. The Royal Navy crest on the left-hand side of the cap is also embroidered in yellow cotton and consists of an oval frame with the Tudor crown at the top of the frame. ‘Royal Australian Navy’ is embroidered inside the frame and surrounds a chain and anchor. A small star sits below this. The right-hand side of the cap features the coat of arms of Perth, Western Australia. The shield of the arms bears the red cross of St. George on a white background with a small black swan in the first quadrant. There are two larger swans embroidered in yellow cotton thread on either side of the shield. At the top of the shield is the naval crown, signifying royal naval service. At the bottom of the shield is a yellow embroidered banner with the word ‘Floreat’ , which translates as the ship’s motto, ‘Fight and Flourish’. The cap’s peak is made of black plastic, covered by black cloth.
