WHITEWORK, DRESS, BABY
A pretty delicate white baby’s dress with pintucking across the front and hand embroidery on the collar and skirt which has an unusual shadow work hem. The dress has puffed sleeves set in a narrow band. Collar trimmed with narrow machine lace. Opening at the back.
Made of fine white cotton in the Philippines, finely embroidered babies’ garments were a popular import into Australia in mid 20th century.
A label at centre back states - “Hand made Feltman Bros. Philippines.”
