Historical information

A draw knife is a woodworking hand tool used for shaving thin or thick layers of wood. It consists of a blade with a handle at each end, and the user pulls (draws) the blade towards their body to remove material. The curved shape of this particular blade is ideal for hollowing out or shaping concave surfaces in wood, such as chair seats, bowls, or log preparation.
