"C.J.Batelier 1906" is written in white in the lower RH corner of picture. In the LH margin is written in pencil, "Kindly Roll Carefully". In the bottom margin, also in pencil, is written "Drawn by C.J.Batelier." and "The North German Lloyd Cargo Steamer Lothingren". A minute pencil sketch of the picture is drawn on the LH side of the bottom margin, while a detailed sketch of the company house flag is drawn in the lower RH corner of the lower margin.
