Historical information

This building came from Denmark, one of the buildings put up in that town by C & E Millar and rebuilt in Gairdner Street Albany in 1905 (renamed Mill Street in the l920's after the construction of the Albany Worsted & Woollen Mills) for the Albany Bowling Club, adjacent to the large grassed oval named Foundation Park. Because of the generous sise of the single room and its wide double verandas the building was used for a large range of public gathering including rooms for the Town of Albany Silver Band for a while. It was demolished in 1999 to make way for the construction of the Albany Bridge Club club rooms and would have stood in what is now the club rooms car park.
