CHAIR, FOLDING - CHILDREN'S
c. 1920The frame of the chair is made from curved, round wooden pieces. The backrest forms the front legs and are pivoted mid point with the back legs which extend forward and up to provide a connection point for the fabric arm rests.
The seat squab is pivoted at the back on the backrest and is supported at the front by a bar joining the two front legs.
The right upright is repaired by a metal plate and screws.
The upholstery is green velveteen material covering the original padded tapestry fabric.
Brought to Western Australian by Alice Mangini from Tasmania. Believed to have been made in Tasmania from local timber and wallaby hide. Chair was made to be used by children.
