Historical information

Frederick William Ponsonby Cammilleri came to Western Australia and was an early pioneer of the Kimberley and Coolgardie goldfields before marrying Kate Bayliss Layman in 1895. He was a Councillor and Mayor on the Busselton Municipal Council for many years.

Frederick William Ponsonby Cammilleri was born on 8 October 1861, in Charlottetown, Queens, Prince Edward Island, Canada. His father, Frederick Ponsonby Cammilleri was 32 and his mother, Georgina Riddell Reginalda Forgan was also 32. He married Kate Baylis Layman in February 1895 in Busselton, Western Australia. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 5 daughters. He died on 17 August 1943 in Busselton, Western Australia at the age of 81.
