STUDIO PORTRAITS OF THELMA MERCER AND HER BRIDAL PARTY
3 Copy prints of studio portraits of Thelma Mercer on her wedding day, each mounted on fawn with a fine brown border. (a) Thelma seated and wearing wedding dress, a large pendant and veil secured to neatly waved hair with floral head piece. She is holding a very large bouquet. (b) Thelma standing on dark steps with train and veil fanned onto carpet in front of her. Heavy curtains in the background. (c) Thelma in similar pose flanked by two bridesmaids in scoop-necked dresses with long full skirts. They too have enormous bouquets.
Thelma Mercer was the daughter of Horrie and Elsie Mercer. Born at home in Stirling Road, then lived in the new familly home built by her parents on the corner of Princess and Doonan Roads, Claremont. On her marriage to Dudley Raymond Barton in 1949, she move into her husband's family home in 28 Vincent Street where she lived until 2012.
