1991 Tiger Academy plaque from Town of Port Hedland

Overview

This is a rectangular, bevel-edged jarrah-wood plaque with the circular, plastic emblem of the Town of Port Hedland in the centre. The emblem is designed with an inner and outer circle, between which are the words 'Town of Port Hedland' and five stars. In the centre of the inner circle is a stylised bird on a white background. Above the emblem, at the top of the plaque, is a wooden cut-out kangaroo, and below the emblem is a plastic boomerang with the words 'Pioneering the Pilbara'. The rectangular metal plate at the bottom of the plaque is gold-coloured and engraved with the name of the recipients, the occasion and the date and place. On the back of the plaque is a nailed-on brass hanger plate.
