Tiger Academy 1994 Friendship Series plaque

Overview

A rectangular jarrah-wood plaque bearing two metal plates. The top plate is gold-coloured and laser-engraved with the logo of the Town of Port Hedland. The logo is made up of an inner and outer circle, between which are the words 'Town of Port Hedland' and five stars. In the centre of the inner circle is a stylised bird. Above the circles is a kangaroo and below the circles is a boomerang with the words 'Pioneering the Pilbara'. Covering this metal plate is a clear piece of perspex that has been nailed to the wooden plaque.

The rectangular plate at the bottom of the plaque is silver-coloured and engraved with the name of the recipients, the occasion and the date and place.

On the back of the plaque is a metal, toothed hanger which is pop-rivetted onto the plaque. Attached to the back are two stickers; one has the manufacturer's details and the other gives details of the type of wood used.
