1947 South Perth Baseball Club 'A' Grade Premiers
A black and white photograph mounted on grey cardboard. Printed above the photo in black type are the name of the club and the team, their achievement and the year. Printed in black type below the photo are the names of the team members and the photographic studio's name and location.
Handwritten on the back of the photograph are seven signatures of team members.
The 1947 West Australian Baseball League 'A' Grade grand final was contested by South Perth and Perth baseball clubs on Sunday, 28 September at Langley Park.
From a report in 'The West Australian' newspaper: "Well served in every position and playing at all times with determination South Perth won the West Australian Baseball League's A Grade premiership by defeating Perth by four runs to two in the grand final played at Langley Park yesterday."

In 1947, After WWII, Jim Dore became a foundation member of South Perth Baseball Club. He captained their winning teams in 1947, 1948, 1949, 1951 and 1952. This photograph was donated to the Baseball WA Museum & Archives by his daughter Lyn Dore.
Jim Dore and teammate Roy Gooch were inducted into the Baseball WA Hall of Fame in 2021 and 2023 respectively.
Of historic significance, this well-provenanced photograph records the images of Western Australian baseballers who achieved a level of excellence in their sport.
