2013 Little League World Series Australian team jersey
A light-grey 100% polyester baseball jersey with a narrow white stripe extending from the cuff of each short sleeve and down the sides of the jersey. These stripes are repeated on the back of the jersey.
The front of the jersey has a two-button opening at the neck. Printed diagonally across the front are the words 'Australia region' in black lettering outlined in yellow. Printed below that to the left is the black and yellow Little League World Series Baseball 2013 logo.
The manufacturer's labels are stitched inside the collar and to the bottom left-hand corner of the jersey front. Their name is also printed on the neckband on the back of the jersey.
The 2013 Little League World Series Baseball was held in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, from August 15 until August 25. Eight teams from the United States and eight from throughout the world competed in the 67th edition of this tournament.
It was announced on August 29, 2012 that three of the eight international regions had been realigned. The results of the realignment included Australia having its own region, meaning that Australia would be given a berth into the Little League World Series (LLWS). This baseball jersey belonged to the head coach of the first Australian team.

In 2013 a combined team of Western Australian players from the Willetton, Gosnells and South Perth baseball clubs were the first team to represent Australia in the Little League World Series. The team was called the Central Firebirds.
This jersey belonged to the Australian team head coach Glen Tovey and was given to Jes Fitzgerald who donated it to the Baseball WA Museum & Archives.
This jersey has historic significance as part of the uniform of the first Australian Little League team to compete in the Little League World Series. The team was formed from Western Australian clubs and therefore the jersey also forms part of this State's baseball history. It is in excellent condition and is well-provenanced.
