Small pocket sized bible (New Testament) with soft cover.
Worn, brown cover coming away from text block.
Title in gold on spin 'New Testament/Oxford'.

Historical information

Donated to the museum after the clean up of the Roman Catholic Church Group of buildings at 32-34 Stirling Terrace, Toodyay following the departure of the Franciscans of the Immaculate Heart in Jan 2017.
Believed to have once been owned by a Sisters of Mercy nun or possibly by a student from the St Aloyisius Convent of Mercy School which was was run by the Sisters of Mercy at this site between 1903 and 1971.

Handwritten verse in pen inside back cover, "Sadie Goldthorpe / Fear not though; for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am they god; I will strengthen thee; Yea, I will help thee; Yea, I will uphold thee; with the right hand of my rightesausness [sic]. May you read this precious book is the prayer of your Sunday school teacher, Jan 1st (?) 1888 A.S. Jacks(?)"
