Large coloured photograph of three men standing at the Royal Perth Yacht Club. The two men are holding the America's Cup trophy. The man on the left is wearing a green and gold striped jumper and green with gold striped pants. The man in the middle is in his dress whites of a Commodore or Capitan. His jacket has gold buttons and four stripes on the epaulets and he is wearing sunglasses. The man on the right is Richard Diggins (Subiaco's Mayor at the time). He is dressed in a black suit with a black tie. They stand on the grass with a number of sail boats moored in the background.

Historical information

The 1987 America's Cup was held off Fremantle, Western Australia, where the American challenger, Stars & Stripes 87, helmed by Dennis Conner, defeated the Australian defender Kookaburra III in a 4-0 sweep to reclaim the Cup.
