Overview

A yellow card with black text certificate of appreciation. Framed with black plastic and gold insert.

The certificate has a number of format shifts to highlight key words and phrases. Of particular note are the words [DALE FEST] in bold capital letters with stylised muscial sheets on either side of the sentence.

The texts reads [Certificate of Participation / presented to / Karragullen Primary School / for their valuable contibution (sic) to the / 1994 ARMADALE DISTRICT / DALE FEST / Signed Keith Davies (Signature) / Keith Davies, Principal Roleystone P.S. / August 17, 1994].

Historical information

Karragullen Primary School started in 1891 by the Canning Sawmill for the children of its employees. In 1913 the state school was opened at Illawarra Orchard. In 1920 the school was moved to Brookton Highway to be closer to where families were establishing new orchards.

Due to falling student numbers the school was closed at the end of 1999. After the closure children in the area would attend schools in Roleystone.
