1962Wood varnished shield with gold coloured lettering.
The letters [S.S.S.A.] above the word [ATHLETICS] which is on a diagonal slant pointing up to the right with a line above and below the word and [1962] below.
Metal bracket on back.
S.S.S.A appears to stand for State School Sports Association which was a previous name for what is now School Sport WA.
Karragullen Primary School started in 1891 by the Canning Sawmill for the children of its employees. In 1913 the state school was opened at Illawarra Orchard. In 1920 the school was moved to Brookton Highway to be closer to where families were establishing new orchards.
Due to falling student numbers the school was closed at the end of 1999. After the closure children in the area would attend schools in Roleystone.
