Overview

Dark brown wood varnished shield. At top is a banner shaped plaque with engraved text. Under this are 17 shield shaped badges with engraved text. At the bottom is a square badge with engraved text. Two eyelet screws on back with a piece of wire coated in green plastic tied between them.

Historical information

George Clarence Spriggs was a then Member of Legislative Assembly. First a member of the Country Party before joining the Liberal Party he spent most of his life in the Kalamunda and greater hills area of Perth.

Karragullen Primary School started in 1891 by the Canning Sawmill for the children of its employees. In 1913 the state school was opened at Illawarra Orchard. In 1920 the school was moved to Brookton Highway to be closer to where families were establishing new orchards.

Due to falling student numbers the school was closed at the end of 1999. After the closure children in the area would attend schools in Roleystone.

Local inter-school athletics competition. Karragullen Primary School would participate in events like this until its closure in late 1999.
