Overview

Very heavy iron with a thick rectangular base plate with a handle supported by ''U'' shaped posts.

Historical information

In the early 1900s a Billiard Hall was established on Jull Street in Armadale. It was located at the train station end of the street. The cloth on pool and billiard tables would regularly need to be brushed and ironed to ensure that it remained smooth and provided a fast and accurate playing surface. Care had to be taken for if the iron was too hot it could burn the cloth meaning the cloth would need to be replaced.
