Overview

A 94-page, A4 document with a pale yellow cover of lightweight card. The title on the front cover is in green text, and a black and white photograph shows the 1947 University 'B' Grade team in playing uniform.
On the back cover, in black print, are snippets from newspaper articles about baseball and the University club. In the centre is a caricature of a fierce baseball pitcher about to deliver the pitch. On the back of his playing top are the initials 'UBC'.

Historical information

This first edition of 'A history of the University of Western Australia Baseball and Softball Club 1947-1998, published in 1998, was produced to celebrate more than 50 years since the club's foundation in 1947.

This publication covers in great detail, the history of the men and women of a Western Australian baseball and softball club. It includes many team photographs, team lists, Life Members, Honour Board, Hall of Fame, committees, premiership appearances and triumphs, and perpetual award winners.
The document was donated to the Baseball WA Museum & Archives by Perth Heat, an Australian Baseball League team.

Statement of significance

This document includes statistical detail as well as personal recollections of the history of a long-established Western Australian club. It therefore has significance as an historical record and a source of information for researchers. It is complete and in good condition.
