Wooden collection boxes from early baseball games
Two hand-held wooden collection boxes from early baseball games. One box has the word 'Gate' written on the handle. Each box has a slot, to accept the price of admission, cut into the sliding lid.
In the early years of competitive baseball in Western Australia, games were played on the Perth Esplanade. These hand-held wooden collection boxes were used on match days to collect the price of attendance from spectators.
