TATTING, MAT
Ecru tatting – a series of two row motifs which involve a lot of joining
Very interesting cross shaped linen mount.
Technically not very well done. Chain of tatting has loops which should be on the outside of the loop. The circles have this but on the straight lines, there has been a tendency to switch sides. Thus, purls on the outside tend to make the section bow, curve and twist when they should lie flat. Purls naturally want to turn inwards.
Mounted on fine linen. Long legged chain stitch around top edge.
Hemming on the back has square corners and rather large stitches.
