Graeme Lloyd's Perth Heat playing top No. 27
Graeme Lloyd's framed Perth Heat baseball team playing top No. 27 has been signed with black marker pen. Mounted to the right of the shirt are four photographs of Lloyd wearing various Perth Heat uniforms. A gold-coloured plaque gives details of his playing career with the New York Yankees. The wooden frame is black with an inner gold-coloured border.
During the 1990-91 season, the Perth Heat acquired Graeme Lloyd’s services to compete in the Australian Baseball League (ABL). He was used as a starter in all nine of his outings for the Perth Heat. He pitched four complete games, posting a 6-1 record with a 2.62 ERA. He was a pivotal member of the Claxton Shield-winning Perth Heat who won the deciding Game 5 of the 1990/91 Championship Series on the back of Lloyd’s pitching. He has been a member of the coaching staff at the Perth Heat and was the Pitching Coach on the 2008 Claxton Shield Winning Team.

This framed memorabilia was donated to the Baseball WA Museum & Archives by Perth Heat. It commemorates the Perth Heat playing career of an outstanding Australian baseball pitcher in Graeme Lloyd. A career with many achievements, including representing Australia at a World Cup, three World Baseball Classics and the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.
A Helms Award winner in 1991, Lloyd was named in the 75th Anniversary Australian All-Star Team in 2009. He was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2003, the Australian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005, and the Baseball WA Hall of Fame in 2021.
Lloyd is perhaps the most decorated Australian to have played Major League Baseball (MLB) with a career spanning over 11 years across seven clubs – Milwaukee Brewers, New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, Montreal Expos, Florida Marlins, New York Mets and Kansas City Royals. He is a two-time World Series champion, winning titles with the Yankees in 1996 and 1998, becoming the first Australian to have won a World Series ring.
