Historical information

Perth Zoo officially opened its gates in South Perth on October 17, 1898. Established to acclimate exotic species and serve as a recreational and scientific hub, it has operated every single day since. Over the decades, it evolved from a stationary circus of entertainment into a renowned centre for wildlife conservation.
