Drinking Fountain Claremont Park
Curved, sloped entrance from Bay View Terrace to Claremont Park, bordered by both a post and pipe and a lower cyclone fence. Pathway leads to the decorative iron drinking fountain with light above. Trees and central grassed area in background. Fence meets the rear of Council Chambers on left.
It is believed that Mr Waldby from Waldby Chemists, was testing a camera when he took this photograph. Claremont Park consists of land surrounding the Claremont Council Chambers (built 1899), extending towards the river down from Bay View Terrace from the interstection at Stirling Highway to Princess Road. In 1912, Mr Doepel awarded 1st prize for layout of the park.
