Metal, stainless steel frying pan with riveted handle attached to round pan with raised sides. Pan shows staining and scratches from use.

Historical information

Used at the Manse Restaurant at 31 Church Avenue, Armadale from the1980s to the 1990s by Gary Smith and his kitchen staff. It was primarily used to cook garlic prawns and sauces.
The Manse Restaurant was opened around May 1988 by Alex and Kerry Koers in the former Congregational Church Manse building. In the early 1990s Gary Smith, who had been working as an apprentice at the restaurant, purchased the restaurant and ran it until its closure in 2020 due to COVID 19 pandemic and ill health. For much of its existence The Manse was a very popular restaurant in the district. During the 1990s the restaurant received several Golden Plate nominations and in 19%% won the award for

Part of a collection of items from the Manse Restaurant that represent the skills and tools of the trade when running a restaurant.This pan was used from the 1990s through to the 2000's to cook sauces as well as their popular garlic prawns, a dish that was a on the menu from the restaurants inception in 1988 through to its closure in 2020. The pan tells the story of a popular local restaurant that prepared good meals for its many loyal customers over a 32 year period.
