Glass bottle in form of a figure of a pilot
c. 1940Glass bottle in form of a figurine of a WWII era pilot. He appears to be wearing his flying suit, flying helmet with loom and receivers, goggles and flying boots.
There is residual dark brown liquid in the base, where the Bakelite screw cap is attached.
There is a faded label on the reverse, along with a piece of tape with the words 'They used to fetch them home during the war'.
It is believed that this bottle originally contained French cognac. The wrting on the reverse indicates that these bottles were brought back home during the war, presumably when on furlough.
