1993Replica Toby Jug from 20th Century Fox Film Corporation's movie '12 O'Clock High'. It features the head of Robin Hood and is made from high gloss ceramic. He has a dark green bycocket hat and tunic, and a black mask around his eyes. He has shoulder length black hair, a black moustache and chin strap beard. His eyes are brown.
On the base are the words 'Property of 918th Bomb Group' and the maker's details.
There is a four page information card describing the role that the mug played in the movie and how the replica jug came to be.
The film, 'Twelve O'Clock High', released in 1949, followed the lives of the men in the 918th Bomb Group stationed in England during WWII. The film featured the toby jug upon which this replica was based. It sat on the mantlepiece of the Officer's Club, facing the wall. In a code known only to members, the jug was turned to face the room when they were scheduled to fly a mission the next day.
