Overview

Rectangular hard cover book with red cloth tape binding. Consists of seventeen sheets with twelve nursery rhymes accompanied by some illustrations.
The front cover is fawn and has an image of large lady in a green dress, white apron and cap holding a rice pudding and a small boy, bent over in front of her. The text is red.
The back cover is similarly coloured, and has a fully clothed elephant, in each corner, having a tug of war with a thin ribbon, surrounding further text, the major part as shown below:- NELSON'S

Historical information

Given to Ursula by Auntie Rita as a Christmas present in 1924. Lillian Ursula Skeet was born in 1919 to Alfred Tunbridge and Lillian Ursula Skeet. She grew up in Forrestdale on the family farm with her parents and five other siblings. Lilian, or Ursual as she was known as, was musical, playing the piano and worked at the Forrestdale Post Office which was located in the front room of their family home. She attended the Forrestdale State School.
In the 1950s Ursula had two short stories published in the Western Mail. She also married and moved away from the district
