PHOTOGRAPH: FREEMASONS HALL, ROBERTS ROAD, SUBIACO

2002
Overview

Full colour high gloss photograph of the Subiaco Freemasons Hall, Roberts Road, Subiaco. The façade of the hall is painted in panels of pale and mid blue, and light and dark yellow ochre, emphasising decorative aspects of the rendered façade. The architecture is neo-classical with elements of both Greek and Roman traditions, e.g. Greek Doric pilasters and a triangular shape above the entrance, with a Romanesque arch over the porch. There are also elements of art deco architecture in the rounded corners and stepped top of the facade. The side walls of the building are red brick with white window frames. These side windows have probably been enlarged. Six steps lead up to the porch and heavy front door.
