a. 1914-15 Star - a 4-pointed bronze medal, ensigned with a crown, crossed swords, oak wreath, cypher of King George V and “1914-15” centered. Medal has original silk ribbon in watered colours of red, white and blue.
b. British War Medal - silver metal round medal fitted on a straight bar securing original ribbon of orange silk, with borders of dark blue, black & white. Medal features the head of King George V with a Latin inscription around the circumference. On the reverse the naked figure of Saint George on horseback facing right and holding a Roman style sword in his right hand, with dates 1914 and 1918 empressed around edge.
c. 1914-1918 Victory Medal impressed to, "142 / SPR. J. DENNEY / 1 SIG.COY A.I.F.", with original silk ribbon of 7 defined colours, representing colours of each allied country. Inside original cardboard box with typed printing, “142./ Spr. J. DENNEY. / 1 Sig. Coy. A.I.F. / 4820/ Decd.”. Also placed inside the box is a cream coloured card with “Killed in Action at Gallipoli Dardanelles”, handwritten in red ink, and in black print, “No. 142 J. DENNEY, / No 4 Section / 1st Divisional Signal Coy. / 1st Australian Division”.

These First World War medal's were issued to Sapper John DENNEY, 142, 1st Divisional Signal Company, AIF. John enlisted 25 August 1914 at Blackboy Hill, Western Australia, and was killed in action at the Dardanelles on the 27 April 1915, aged 20 years.
