Overview

An oblong green glass bottle. The opening has a thin lip before tapering down to form the base of the bottle.

There is raised text on three sides of the bottle. Front [AROMATIC / SCHNAPPS]. Second side [UDOLPHO WOLFE'S / SCHIEDAM]. Third side has the markers mark and ownership claim.

There is an indent at the base of the bottle.

Historical information

Manufactured in Schiedamn, the Netherlands and imported into the U.S. in 1848 by Uldopho Wolfe the gin was marketed as a general health drink.

One of the ingredients touted was the Italian berry that was purported to have digestive benefits.

Sold mainly in the western world focusing on the United States and South America, bottles have been found in Australia as well. Bottles have different colours and shapes depending on the year and location they were manufactured.

The bottle was tossed into a rubbish pit when the contents were finished and the bottle had no use.
