PD & Co on the base of the bottle refers to Parke Davis & Co which was a major drug manufacturer. Founded in 1875 after a decade of shifting names and partners Parke Davis & Company would grow to be the largest manufacturer of drugs and pharmaceutical research.

It was purchased in Warner-Lambert which was then purchased by Pfizer in 2000.
