SIMON HAMERSLEY & DAVID CAREW-REID
1984Coloured photo of two men dressed in light trousers with brown belts.
The man on the left is Simon Hamersley. He is standing near an open doorway with an olive green door frame and is wearing a light blue shirt with his hands behind his back.
The man on the right, with a moustache, is David Carew Reid. He is wearing a short sleeved check shirt with his right arm behind his back and left hand on his hip.
Bamboo leaves are seen to the left of the photo and other people can be seen in the background.
The photo was taken on the occasion of the launch of Drummond's Restaurant in what is now known as Connor’s Cottage, in Piesse Street, Toodyay.
The owners were Simon Hamersley and David Carew-Reid and more than 200 people attended the opening .
Tony Motion, of ‘Buckland’, cut the red ribbon.
The name of the restaurant paid tribute to James Drummond Snr., a respected colonial botanist, who owned ‘Hawthornden’, north of Toodyay. Portraits of Drummond and his descendants lined the walls of the French-style café.
