PHOTOGRAPH: SHENTON HOUSE, UNIVERSITY OF WA, CRAWLEY
1989The black and white photograph shows Shenton House, previously 'Crawley Park', which was built by Henry Sutherland in the 1830s. The building was bought by George Shenton in 1882, enlarged and renamed. At present it is part of the campus of U.W.A. in Crawley. It is a two storey building with a verandah around the lower storey. The doors and windows were altered and its shingles replaced with tiles. The house is overhung by a eucalypt tree and its verandah is partly obscured by shrubs.
