PHOTOGRAPH: RESIDENCES, 15-19 HAY STREET, SUBIACO
1905The black and white photographs show three brick and iron roofed double-storey row-houses which were completed in 1905 and are quite rare in Subiaco. The cast-iron lacy valences and balconies are probably original and the balustrades are embellished with garlands and a pediment above. There is a solid brick front fence built to the footpath. There are shrubs and trees in the front gardens. No. 17 was lived in by Ellen Clarke in 1918 according to great-grandson John Brown (366 Shell Harbour Road, Barrack Heights, NSW, but a different name listed in WPOD 1917-1921. Possibly shared accommodation?
