Historical information

During World War Two, public collections on ANZAC Day (April 25) raised essential money for service personnel, rehabilitation, and comforts funds. Citizens who donated money received a pin to wear on their lapel, publicly showing their financial support for the war effort.

This particular pin was part of a series sold in South Australia. This featured a naval theme, while the others represented the Air Force (a blue spitfire plane graphic) and the Army ( a red tank graphic).
