Navy League celluloid fundraising pin

Overview

Navy League shield shaped celluloid fundraising pin. It features a contrasting yellow-on-blue motif which matches the traditional colours associated with international Navy League organisations.
In the centre is a fouled anchor in white surrounded by a gold wreath and surmounted by a red and gold King's Crown, all on a vibrant blue background. The words 'NAVY LEAGUE' are printed in gold below the anchor and wreath.
It would have had a metal pin threaded through a small hole for attachment, but this is missing.
The reverse of the pin is plain, with no maker's marks.

Historical information

Navy League is a maritime advocacy organisation originally founded in the United Kingdom in 1895, which went on to establish independent branches globally in other Commonwealth countries including Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
The Navy League of Australia became a fully independent Australian national body in 1950 dedicated to promoting maritime awareness, a strong naval defence, and robust commercial shipping industries.
